About the Artist
My name is Nebyou T. Chaka, a graduate of the Addis Ababa School of Fine Arts and Design,
holding a Bachelor's degree since 2001. Over the past two decades, I have passionately
pursued a life in art — participating in numerous group and solo exhibitions.
For me, art is life. It is not just a practice, but a way of understanding, questioning, and
celebrating existence. Throughout my journey, I have explored many themes and styles —
from vibrant periods centered on color abstraction, such as my Red, Green, and Blue
periods, where I experimented boldly with color, form, and texture.
Over time, my focus evolved. While abstraction taught me the beauty of emotional
expression, portraiture revealed to me the profound power of storytelling. Today, my work is
centered around portraiture — each face I paint holds a unique story, a reflection of human
experience, struggle, resilience, and hope.

Alongside my artistic journey, I also pursued a passion for technology, earning an Associate Degree in Cybersecurity from Gwinnett Technical College. This foundation in network security, ethical hacking, and data protection strengthened my ability to create secure, reliable, and innovative digital solutions.
My work as a software engineer blends creativity and technical expertise — from building clean, user-friendly interfaces to implementing robust APIs and secure, scalable systems.
This intersection between traditional fine art and modern technology enriches my vision, allowing me to approach creation from both a tactile and digital perspective. Through all mediums, my goal remains the same: to create meaningful work that speaks to the soul, honors human stories, and bridges the worlds of tradition and innovation.
